The Latin Recording Academy once again tapped Springboard to produce an 8-hour live webcast from the awards site at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. This live HD production, directed by Michael Gaertner, featured a hosted Celebrity Arrivals show, backstage interviews all during the Univision telecast of the Latin Grammy Awards, the Pre-Telecast Awards, and highlights from the Person-of-the-Year Tribute to Shakira.

Lollapalooza 20th Anniversary Webcast Takes Off

From Chicago during August, the multi-channel Lollapalooza YouTube Webcast, produced by Springboard, featured over 50 live performances including headliners Coldplay, Foo Fighters, and My Morning Jacket. Springboard provided all video production resources required for promoter C3 Presents to deliver 27 hours of all-HD live performances to a record-setting audience at youtube.com/lollapalooza. Post-festival performance clips generated millions of additions streams. Dell and AMD sponsored the webcast.

All-Star Neil Young Tribute on Palladia

The MusiCares Person-of-the-Year Tribute to Neil Young premiered this week on MTV’s Palladia channel, and is also available on Blu-ray and DVD. Featuring performances by Elton John, John Mellencamp, Jackson Browne, Crosby Stills & Nash, Dave Matthews, James Taylor, Ben Harper, Norah Jones, Wilco, John Fogerty, Keith Urban and others singing Neil Young songs, all music was re-mixed by Springboard’s Hank Neuberger and Sam Fishkin for Bounce Productions and the MusiCares Foundation.

The Coachella Festival webcast, produced by Springboard for promoters Goldenvoice, attracted possibly the biggest online audience ever for a music festival event. Over 4 million Channel views were recorded at YouTube, with exceptionally long viewer engagement times. The webcast was notable for providing 3 simultaneous channels filled with 65 bands, and many on-site artist interviews. Post-Fest, many performances are still available and drawing hundreds of thousands additional viewers. The webcast was sponsored by Wrigley’s 5 Gum.

The 2011 Coachella Festival webcast is receiving kudos all over the world as the finest Festival webcast to date. Three HD Channels, 81 hours of live Fest content, all available at YouTube. Participating artists included all 3 headliners–Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire, and Kanye West–as well as the Black Keys, Mumford and Sons, the Strokes, Duran Duran, the National, and more than 50 other artists. Also featured were on-site interviews with Paul McCartney, Lauren Hill, Usher, Swell Season, Sleigh Bells, and many more.

Producing Live Latin Grammy Webcast

For the second year in a row, Springboard was asked by The Latin Recording Academy to produce a live webcast from the site of the 11th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, from Las Vegas. This live webcast, hosted at latingrammy.com, included the Pre-Telecast Awards Ceremony, and the star-studed Green Carpet Arrivals event as Latin Grammy Award Winners, nominees and performers, such as Mark Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, and Placido Domingo, stopped for interviews with our hosts. The Latin Grammy Awards telecast on the Univision Network was the highest rated show in Univision history.

Capturing Moogfest in Asheville, NC

The Lollapalooza Festival for the Fuse Network, featuring Kings of Leon, the Killers, Snoop Dogg, and Jane’s Addiction, and the Austin City Limits Festival Special for the MTV Palladia channel featuring Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band, Ben Harper, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs were both recognized.
